Reunited Taking Back Sunday lineup to record this summer

The Tell All Your Friends-era lineup of Taking Back Sunday have begun work on their next full length and their first album together in more than eight years. The reunion, announced earlier this month saw the return of guitarist/vocalist John Nolan and bassist Shaun Cooper. Nolan and Cooper initially left the band in 2003 to form alternative/indie pop act Straylight Run, who themselves announced their hiatus in February.

The band issued a press release about recording, with longtime vocalist Adam Lazzara explaining:

This crazy idea came up and once we started exploring it and talking on the phone it was almost like all that time hadn’t passed between us. I don’t think any of us really knew if hanging out again let alone writing and playing together would actually work. For it to feel so comfortable and effortless so quickly made us realize that we had to give it a chance.

The band will be recording their fifth studio album in Los Angeles this summer with producer Eric Valentine.

Darkest Hour leave Victory, join E1

After a decade on the label, Darkest Hour has left Victory Records and signed to Koch Records‘ E1 Music. The label is home to Hatebreed, High on Fire and others. Guitarist Mike Schleibaum commented on the signing:

We couldn’t be more excited to announce that Darkest Hour has found a new home with E1 Music. When we started the band we were just a couple of rejects with one collective dream, rock the world with our bastard combination of punk and metal! It has truly been the ride of a lifetime. From playing our first punk shows in the basements of Washington DC to touring all over the world, the band has really grown up across generations of punk, metal, and hardcore kids. It’s time for the next metamorphosis: enter our new partners, the good people at E1 Music. We have been hard at work on our E1 debut for months now. More news will follow but rest assured we have found a new home with E1 and can’t wait to open the next chapter!

The band’s previous release wasThe Eternal Return in 2009
