Runner Runner (Over It, Rufio, Don’t Look Down) sign to EMI/Capitol

Runner Runner, the side new project from members of Over It, Rufio and Don’t Look Down, has signed to EMI Group. The band will see its debut album released through a new partnership with EMI Music’s Capitol Records, Clear Entertainment/C.E. Music (a new label formed by David Letterman’s Worldwide Pants Inc.), and Jack Ponti’s MRV label. The self-titled debut will be released in late summer.

Henry Rollins, Ric Ocasek, Ian MacKaye, Adam Yauch, Don Letts in Bad Brains doc

IMDB is listing some more details including the cast and crew of a the longtime in-development documentary about legendary hardcore pioneers Bad Brains. The film is marked as “in production” and appears to be titled Bad Brains: A Band in D.C. . Participating commentators include Henry Rollins of Black Flag, Ian MacKaye of Minor Threat/Fugazi, punk rock filmmaker and musician Don Letts (Big Audio Dynamite). Members of the Bad Brains including Paul ‘H.R.’ Hudson, Gary ‘Dr. Know’ Miller, Darryl Jenifer and Earl Hudson all participated as did Bad Brains producers Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys and Ric Ocasek of The Cars. The yet-untitled film was directed by Mandy Stein and Ben Logan and traces the history of the band from their formation in Washington, D.C. in 1979 to the present day.

Adam Lazzara: “‘New Again’ was a gigantic step backwards for us”

In a recent fan-curated interview of sorts with Taking Back Sunday vocalist Adam Lazzara on social media question-and-answer site Formspring, he admitted his own personal disappointment with the band’s 2009 major label album, New Again:

[New Again] was a gigantic step backwards for us. I’m proud of what i said however not fully satisfied with what we put out. I/We are making up or that now. cant wait for you to hear it.

Since that album was released, the band went through a significant lineup change and reunited with their most beloved (and critically acclaimed) lineup from 2002’s Tell All Your Friends. Check out the rest of his answers here.
