Smoking Popes currently in the studio
According to the Asian Man Records newsletter, Smoking Popes are currently holed up inside Atlas Studios with producer Matt Allison working on their next full-length. A release is expected later this year, and once out it’ll follow up 2008’s Stay Down, though in the interim the band released a compilation entitled It’s Been a Long Day.
Also expected later this year through Asian Man are reissues of the Popes’ first two full-lengths, 1993’s Get Fired and 1994’s Born to Quit. The band will be performing at Insubordination Fest in June.
