Welcome to Hollow Wish… On the surface, its your typical lawless frontier. Yet this mysterious shell planetoid is filled with dark secrets and cloaked figures. Its here Kit Ballard, aka Blade Kitten, works as one of the best bounty hunters in the business. Dont let her pink hair fool you, Kit is part cat, part girl, and wholly lethal. I’m letting Jay go in Canada because I just feel he doesn’t represent this band well on a character level. It would go against my own code of ethics to keep him around. Not saying he’s a bad drummer. I won’t take that away from him. But the reality is – he has a lot to learn about paying dues, and about life in general. Granted, he is a kid, but I’m not sure that he’ll ever be built for this particular lifestyle. I wish him the best of luck, but the MADBALL machine rolls on!
As it is apparently collaboration week, Weezer joined up with My Chemical Romance to perform the band’s track, “My Name Is Jonas.” Weezer is supporting their Epitaph Records debut, Hurley. My Chemical Romance most recently announced their new album, Danger Days: True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys.

We have mixed feelings about discounted pricing. Like we said, we love getting good music into the hands of good people, and when a price is low, more people buy. A low price will introduce a lot of people to Sufjan’s music and to this wonderful album. For that, we’re grateful. But we also feel like the work that our artists produce is worth more than a cost of a latte. We value the skill, love, and time they’ve put into making their records. And we feel that our work too, in promotion and distribution, is also valuable and worthwhile.
That’s why we personally feel that physical products like EPs should sell for around $7 and full-length CDs for around $10-12 We think digital EPs should sell for around $5 and full-length digital albums for something like $8.

Dropkick Murphys collaborated with Boston hospital workers to produce a new video supporting their campaign to to join Local 1199 of the Service Employees International Union. The announcement notes:
The new music video from Boston rock icons Dropkick Murphys features more than just footage from the bands rollicking sold-out arena shows. It also delivers a timely social justice message supporting blue collar and frontline workers in Boston’s largest industry – healthcare. The new “Tomorrow’s Industry” video was created through a unique collaboration with Boston hospital workers as part of their campaign to join Local 1199 of the Service Employees International Union for a voice at work. When the video and DVD launch publicly on Tuesday, September 21st, the Dropkick Murphys will make history as the first national recording artists in the United States to ever adopt a labor organizing cause as the main theme of a rock music video.
Hospital worker Bill Timmons commented:
It shows Dropkick Murphys are a band that’s true to their roots. It shows they’re willing to stand up for the working families of their city. And many of those families have at least one person doing a job in healthcare where they’re underpaid and barely able to scrape by.
