Angels and Airwaves set release date for ‘I-Empire’

A release date has been announced for the next record from Tom Delonge’s Angels and Airwaves project. The band’s new record is titled I-Empire and is due out October 23, 2007.

It is the follow-up to We Don’t Need to Whisper which was released in 2006. As with the previous output from the band, the lead up to the release is frequently punctuated with cryptic messages courtesy of the former Blink-182 guitarist. In June of this year, Tom noted:

I have a lot of incredible things happening here and music is just one part of it. A couple of years ago I started talking about what I wanted to do with music and the things that I wanted [the band] to lead the charge on and it’s all happening. It’s taken a lot of money, effort and technology but it’s happening.

Well, the same day the record release was confirmed, Karl Rove left the White House. Coincidence?
