Assistant pleads not-guilty in murder of ex-Ramones manager

Natavia Lowery, personal assistant to former Ramones manager and New York City realtor, Linda Stein has pleaded not guilty in the murder of the 62-year old. According to a report from NME, Lowery first claimed that a masked man had committed he crime after bursting into the apartment and telling Lowery she would be the last person to see Stein alive.

She then admitted she killed her boss with a weighted yoga stick after Stein had brandished the stick, blown smoke in her face and made racist comments. Lowery’s attorney Ron Kuby is saying Lowery was coerced into a false confession after a 12 hour interrogation session.

Surveillance footage shows Lowery leaving the building shortly after the murder took place. The murder weapon was never found.
