Max Bemis of Say Anything has unveiled his new solo project, Max Bemis and the Painful Splits. He announced the project on his twitter noting that the album will be “Lofi fun postpunk” and he’ll be selling the album on Say Anything’s upcoming co-headlining tour with Motion City Soundtrack.

The album will be $10 and only available on the tour.

Glassjaw has posted a curious live video for their new-ish song, “You Think You’re John Fucking Lennon,” on their website. The band is playing the song “live” in the clip in the sense of being together and not necessarily in front of a crowd.

The song’s studio version was initially premiered online by the band in December 2008.

No word on a release yet from the largely dormant act, who last released Worship and Tribute in 2002.

Propagandhi have announced plans to release a split 7″ with Canadian thrash legends Sacrifice. Each band will contribute one cover song to the record; Propagandhi will be covering Corrosion of Conformity’s “Technocracy” while Sacrifice will offer their take on Rush’s “Anthem.”

The 7″ will be released via Winnipeg-based metal label War on Music. More details are expected soon.

In an interesting turn of events, Savannah, GA progressive metal act Baroness will soon release a limited 7″ with a cover of the Descendents classic “Bikeage” as the B-side. The A-side will feature “A Horse Called Golgotha,” a track from the group’s 2009 full-length Blue Record.

According to a recent update on his Facebook page, Joey Cape has recently recorded guest vocals for upcoming full-lengths from Montreal’s The Sainte Catherines as well as German outfit Red Tape Parade.

More details are expected soon, though we know for sure that the Sainte Catherines LP is titled Fire Works and is expected out in the fall via Anchorless Records. Red Tape Parade have been hard at work on their new full-length and follow up to 2008’s Ballads of the Flexible Bullet.

No Sleep Records has added Chicago-area quartet Stay Ahead of the Weather to their roster. The band notably features Evan Weiss, formerly of Damiera and currently performing solo under the moniker Into It. Over It., as well as Nick Wakim of Castevet and Native‘s Bobby Markos.

The label will release the band’s debut, a five song 7″ entitled We Better Get Goin’ If We’re Gonna, on December 7, 2010.

Reax is hosting a new track from The Measure [SA]. “Unwritten” will appear on the band’s upcoming sophomore full-length Notes, slated for an October 5, 2010 release through No Idea Records. Head here to check out the song. Some of you might remember the song being featured on If You Make It’s Pink Couch Sessions late last year.

Once out, Notes will follow up 2006’s Historical Fiction, though The Measure have released a fair amount of EPs, 7-inches and collections since then, including a split with New Bruises just last month.
