Guild Wars is the MMORPG that doesnt have a monthly fee. I wonder if it will continue to do so well… I am really suprised Doom 3 is still in the top 10, but I look for the release of BF2 to push it out of the list.
A lot of things have happened lately with the Battlefield Conversion Team. The previous lead has left the group. I talked to Ben at EA about taking over this project and he was fine with that. I am doing what I can to revive the team that has worked so hard on this project. I know the previous lead said the project was 98% complete. I can not say if that is true or not, but I do know there are some show stopping bugs that must be addressed before another build is presented to EA. Right now, we are working to figure out what is really left to do, what must be fixed and who can help us get it done.
That brings me to my next point. We may need some experienced help from the Battlefield Community to get this done before BF2 is released. If you are an experienced modder, please contact me and let me know what skills you have and what type of time you think you could provide in the Month of June. I know this is unprecedented, but I would like to issue a request of all the Battlefield mods who have experience with BFV. Would you be willing to help us get this project out the door? The community wants it. They deserve it and they should get it. For just a while, can you work with us to make this happen?
You may be wondering when we think this mod will be released. I am going to be honest about this. EA/DICE is working hard to get Battlefield 2 out the door. Because of this, we may be hard pressed to get QA time until after BF2 has been released. Ben is going to work with us on this, but ultimately it depends on what we have left to do and how long it takes us to get it done. Until we reach that point, I cannot tell you a date. I can tell you I have played an early build and I fell in love with it. I can also tell you a lot of people believe this mod should be completed and released. I agree…….
Atomm Nihilo
It seems that E3 couldnt handle the power load this year. Must be all those teraflops the new PS3 is crunching. Eh, at least it would be interesting finding your way around in the dark. Maybe youll get lucky and "accidentally" bump into a Booth Babe….. Rrrrrrrrrr……
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – It is hard to hold a video game trade show during a power failure, as attendees of the Electronic Entertainment Expo learned the hard way Wednesday, just as the show was getting underway.

Sometimes life is really good. For instance, take the other day. I stopped by the Post Office to check my PO Box. Nothing but a bunch of trash. Tear it up and drop it in the trash can. Hey, whats this? Oooohhhh. The latest issue of Stuff Magazine with the WWEs Stacy Keibler on the cover. Hmmmm…. And its not even soiled. Yet….
I jump in my car and turn on the radio. Its my good buddy, The Bladerunner from Rock 100.5, the KATT in Oklahoma City. This is the guy that helped me get my first big break, making me his producer way back in 94. Hes also the same guy who went to bat for me to get a chance to be on air during the weekends. Hes a great guy and very entertaining. So I am listening to him and he plays an interview he did with Gene Simmons of Kiss. He asked Gene what was the greatest present he ever received from a fan. Genes answer? Someones Mom. He goes on to explain it was an 18 year old kid and he brought Gene his mom complete with a Red Bow as a Christmas present. He also mentioned she was very hot. And people wonder why so many teenage boys want to be Rock Stars when they grow up.
Battlefield 2 is right around the corner and we cant wait to play. It will be good to have a new and exciting game to play again. It seems like Battlefield Vietnam just didnt hold the GRBs attention like BF42 did. The Gamers Radio Battalion is looking for more members, so if you are interested in playing BF2 in the TWL or if you like playing custom maps, let us know. Hell, if you just like posting random thoughts to message boards, this is the place for you.
The Dead Zone returns to USA Network on June 12, paired with new episodes of The 4400, TV Guide Online reported.
Other than the strange schedule the Deadzone keeps, it is a great show. Paired with the 4400, another awesome SciFi show, this will be a great 2 hours of television.
Fans of the Daywalking Vampire will be happy to hear this….
Spike TV says it has ordered a two-hour movie that will act as a pilot for a series based on the Blade movies, with a premiere targeted for early next year, Zap2It reported.
In more interesting SciFi news….
Star Trek: Enterprise producers Brannon Braga and Rick Berman told SCI FI Wire that they understood the recent disparaging comments made by cast members about the final episode, but stood by their execution of the series finale.
I would just like to point out the use of the words execution of the series…. His words, not mine…. Funny how accurate they really are… Thanks for “executing” what could have been a great Star Trek series….
File this under cool things on TV that should keep you away from the computer for at least 2 hours. The Discovery Channel is going to have a show called Alien Planet. The premise is what if we were the ones to discover an alien planet, instead of aliens finding us. I know you are probably thinking little green men, but they look at it from a realistic approach.
What if we find another planet with life. What would that life be like? With real scientists, including the world famous Stephen Hawkings, taking a serious look at we could find out there, this is a must see show for SciFi fans or even Space Fans.
Watch the coolest footage here.
May 18th, 8PM ET/PT – Dont forget to set the Tivo.
Discovery and Discovery HD (Its almost enough to make me get HD for one show)
Scanning the net, we came across the rumor control page at GameSpot. Most of it was X-box related, but the last item really caught my attention. It involves development on Diablo 3, which has not been publicly announced by Blizzard.
From the GameSpot Article:
Midweek, the fan site Diabloii.net received an e-mail from someone claming to be a “musician in Czech Republic.” The person said that, “I have recently been to Bratislava in Slovak Republic for recording sessions with local Radio Symphony Orchestra, where we just recorded music for Diablo 3.” So why should we give credence to someone who could be a crank from a former Warsaw Pact country? Because the music for the Diablo II: Lord of Destruction was recorded in Bratislava, Slovakia, with the Slovak Radio Philharmonic, around four months before the expansion pack was released. By that same calculus, if the music for Diablo III was recorded this month, then the game could be released before the end of the year. (Although some rumors pegging it as a PlayStation 3 launch title would make that unlikely.) So while theres no definitive proof that Diablo III is in the can, it is looking more and more likely that Blizzard will announce the game soon…and perhaps as early as E3.
Hmmmmm…… This could be interesting…..
In more news unrelated to gaming or music, I just got word that NASA is considering sending a shuttle mission to service the aging Hubble telescope. I hope this happens. The Hubble is one of the greatest Astronomy tools we have and it would be a shame for it to crash to earth years before a replacement is scheduled to launch.

Today, DICE released this Press Release announcing a new First Person Shooter based on their Brand.
Interestingly enough, the game is being developed by DICE Canada, the same folks that brought us Battlefield Vietnam. Even more interesting, this new game is due in the Fall of this year. The short development time leads me to believe this will be an expansion for Battlefield 2 and not a new full blown game. Maybe a port of BF42 to the new engine? 🙂
In other Battlefield 2 news, it is being reported in a recent interview that DICE will indeed support Linux servers. Still no change on only Official EA servers supporting the ranking system.
