If you are fan of Baldurs Gate I and II, then you may enjoy this link. It will give you directions on how to play Baldurs Gate I using Baldurs Gate II. Think of it as a mini-mod/port kind of thing that will update your spells and allow you to view the game at higher resolutions. Very cool stuff.

The Bard Returns
I was rather young the first time I played The Bards Tale on my Commodore 64. To be honest, I can not remember if it was 1, 2 or 3. I do remember that I enjoyed playing it and for me that is enough to get excited about this preview of the new Bards Tale gaming being developed by InXile Entertainment.
If the game is half as entertaining as the InXile website, then this is going to be a great game. A word of warning about their website. Dont piss off the guard. He has a nasty way of getting you back.
EA announce next Battlefield 1942 Patch 1.5
EA/Dice has an updated on the next patch (v1.5) for Battlefield 1942. The major item include a fix for the CD swapping. I am glad they are addressing the problem introduced in the 1.45 patch. I have been unable to play the Road To Rome Expansion since they started this crap. There is no release date listed at this time.
Read On for the complete info, directly from the official website. Continue reading EA announce next Battlefield 1942 Patch 1.5
RIAA Screws Up!
The Boston Globe has a story about the RIAA suing a 66 year old Female Mac user for sharing 2,000 songs with Kazaa (which doesnt work on a Mac). One of the songs reportedly shared was “Im a Thug,” by the rapper Trick Daddy. Insert Funny Comment Here
The RIAA dropped the charges, but reserved the right to sue her again if they determine she indeed offered illegal songs for download online.
EA Announces Next MMORPG, Ultima X: Odyssey
EA just announced their next foray into the MMORPG genre. Read on for the full press release. In addition to the press release, Gamespy had a bunch of screenshots. Looks more like EQ, then UO if you ask me. (Screenshots are gone for some strange reason.) Continue reading EA Announces Next MMORPG, Ultima X: Odyssey
Farewell To Great Indie Band
Since 1989, Manifest Destiny has been kicking Metal Ass in one form or another. At one time, they had a European record deal and ranked higher than Metallica on the Metal charts in a European country (Denmark, Sweden or something similar, cant remember).
Tragically loosing their front man to a fatal car accident the day before his birthday and in-between the first and second album, they persevere with a new front man, Russ Pace.
Deemed too heavy for their market, MD parts ways with their label after releasing their second album to much critical acclaim world wide. To this day, you can still find import copies of Manifest Destinys first two albums floating around on the net.
Lets move along to the year 2000. Ive been working with Russ for almost a year before I find out he is the singer in a Metal band. I think hes joking. Hes rather quiet and keeps to himself, not at all like the front man for an up your ass Metal Band. Was I in for a shock. Not only was he the lead singer, but it was a great band. I enjoyed the music so much, I debuted their last album on my own station, even before it was released. It rocked! (Funny side note: The guys in the band freaked out because some internet radio station was playing their stuff before it was released. Luckily, Russ filled them in on how we knew each other and the fact that he was actually the assistant music director for the station.)
Back to business…. Last week, I dropped by their site to find out they were going their separate ways. Even though, I only knew the band for a little less than three years, I honestly feel they were a great live Metal band and put out kick ass original Metal music. I for one was looking forward to their next album. Thanks for the great shows and the great tunes guys, you will be missed. And if I ever get my damn station back online, you will be in rotation….
To quote Russ, Peace Out….

Jack On The Big Screen!
Our boy Jack is rumored to be a new movie with none other than the Olsen twins. In the new movie, Jack will play the manager of a band featuring a 17 year old punk rebel named Roxy. Roxy will be played by Mary-Kate Olsen. (Is she the pretty one?)
Ashley will play her twin sister, an intellectual who wants to attend college.
All I can say is….. Jack, Hes a ladies man….

EA/Dice announces Battlefield Vietnam
In a previous article, I mentioned the registration of Battlefield Vietnam in the copyright office by EA/Dice. Today we find out it was actually true. EA/Dice are developing the next generation Battlefield game using a new engine. This time around, the theatre of war will be Vietnam.
If you want to get your Vietnam kicks now, check out the Battlefield 1942 mod, Eve of Destruction or Read More for the full press release on Battlefield Vietnam. Continue reading EA/Dice announces Battlefield Vietnam
LoTR: The Two Towers Special Edition DVD
WAY COOL STUFF HERE. USA Today has a quick run down on all the features you will see in the fall release of the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Special Edition DVD. Amazingly enough, there will be a full 43 more minutes of footage! WOW! I cant wait to get it.
Is downloading copyright music equal to stealing?
There is a great debate on the PBS (GASP!) website on whether downloading music from the Internet is actually stealing. The questions were possed by readers of Slashdot. Representing the side that this aurthor falls on is Lawrence Lessig from Stanford Law School. Representing the RIAA is one of their lawyers, Matt Oppenheim. When you read the article, pay attention to the questions and the answers. I wonder if you get the same creepy feeling that I do when you read Matts responses that he is somehow avoiding actually answering the question in only the way a lawyer can do? Tell us what you think when you are done reading it.
Worlds Of Warcraft Review
I just ran across a great review of Worlds of Warcraft on MMORPGdot.com. It goes into some of the details of the upcoming online game and has some great screenshots. I am a recovering addict from MMORPGs, but this game looks fun enough to make me jump off the wagon…. Get the full scoop here.
Eve of Destruction released
If you are like me, you can not wait to get Eve of Destruction, a new mod for Battlefield 1942. Lets face it, Desert Combat is getting old and we want something new to play. Now is our chance.
I tried to put together a list of places to download the update, but every link I tried was disconnected. Even the main EoD site on BF Central is down (As is BFCentral.com). Guess this one took them by suprise.
As I write this, I am waiting 10 more minutes to download it from Fileplanet (Part of Gamespy and you must register). I am not a big fan of Fileplanet, but it was my last choice. My suggestion for you is to do the same and either suck up the wait time or pay for the no-wait premium service because it doesnt look like anyone else was ready for the EoD download onslaught!
Hope to see you soon on an EoD server near you….
