In a move that can only be described as Mike Park-esque, The Get Up Kids frontman Matt Pryor has apparently begun gauging interest in performing gigs inside the living rooms of strangers. There’s no word on the scope of this or if it’ll even end up happening, but if you’re interested in hosting Mr. Pryor he can contacted here.
Toronto’s The Creepshow have posted their new video for the song “They All Fall Down.” The track appears on the album of the same name which arrived this week via Hellcat Records.
While participating in a panel discussion at MIPCOM 2010, Gene Simmons, bassist of hard rock outfit Kiss, had some harsh suggestions and comments on the effects and his suggested response to file sharing:
Make sure your brand is protected. Make sure there are no incursions. Be litigious. Sue everybody. Take their homes, their cars. Don’t let anybody cross that line. The music industry was asleep at the wheel and didn’t have the balls to sue every fresh-faced, freckle-faced college kid who downloaded material. And so now we’re left with hundreds of thousands of people without jobs. There’s no industry.
But that little fox went back with a free egg and told all the other little foxes about it, and then the foxes overran the farm, killed all the chickens, took all the eggs, and didn’t pay for it. Now the farmer lost his farm. His wife divorced him and went with another farmer who was smarter. The kids ran off because the spineless farmer didn’t have enough sense to kill the fox. The trucks that delivered the chickens-they’re all out of business. The stores that sold them-they’re out of business. Why? Because of one goddamn cute little fox. So don’t let any cute little foxes get near your henhouse!

Alexisonfire have set a November 2, 2010 for their Dog’s Blood EP which they announced in September of 2009. Co-produced by Alexisonfire and Jon Drew (F*cked Up, Tokyo Police Club, Quest For Fire, Arkells) the EP features three vocal tracks and one instrumental.
Aterm coined by vocalist George Pettit, Dog’s Blood features brand new songs from the band. Guitarist Dallas Green commented:
They’re completely different-sounding songs and would probably never make it onto a full-length record.
A limited run of 2000 vinyl records will be available in three different color variations: one color will be sold through the labels, one color via the band’s official online store, and one color will be sold on tour. SourceContinue reading Alexisonfire to release “Dog’s Blood” EP→
According to primitive Twitter user and band member Fat Mike, Me First and The Gimme Gimmes recently hit the studio to record, at the very least, a cover of an unnamed INXS song. No word yet on the breadth of said recordings, but we’ll keep you posted as more details emerge.
The current lineup of New York hardcore pioneers Cro-Mags are aiming to release a new album. The band, which includes vocalist John Joseph, guitarist AJ Novella (Leeway), bassist Craig “Ahead” Setari (Sick Of It All), & drummer Mackie Jayson (Bad Brains, Madball, Hazen Street), are aiming for 2011 with Joseph saying this:
You know, we are looking to release something next year. We always just roll with the punches. We want to release something with this line-up. My philosophy is: “I don’t talk about shit; I just do it.” When it’s getting ready to come out you will hear about it. That’s what I did with my books. I just wrote a film. There is no need to “big-talk” something. I think everybody knows what to expect, so when it’s getting ready to come out people will hear about it.
The band released Revenge in 2000, but without Joseph. Their last album with him was 1993’s Near Death Experience.
Fresh off the release of their new full-length Keep This to Yourself, Transit have announced another round of tour dates, kicking off later this month and featuring support fRun For Cover labelmates Hostage Calm as well as Albany, NY outfit Aficionado.
This is easily my favorite material that we have ever written for an album. I believe it is the most passionate release we have ever done, as well as the most impulsive. All of our records have a very spontaneous pulse to them, the songs are always in a constant state of evolving and growing, but for the songs for Long Live, we literally just let go. It was a very natural process and I think that comes across in the music
