Castevet (NY) set to record

Metal act Castevet (not to be confused with the emo/punk/post-rockers of the same name) will enter the PAINcave studio early next month to record their debut album. The session will be engineered by Behold… The Arctopus’s Colin Marston (Genghis Tron, Jarboe, Capillary Action).

The recording will feature a guest appearance by instrumentalist/composer Tim Byrnes and act as the debut for bassist J. Scott (Defeatist, Anodyne).

The album is slated for a 2010 release, following on their recent 7″ on Paragon, Stones/Salts.

The band will play the “Show No Mercy” show — whether that entails a set of Slayer or Cro-Mags covers or just a general theme, the Org is unsure — at Brooklyn’s Public Assembly on September 6 with Gnaw and Mick Barr.
