Big D and The Kids Table talk new album

Big D and the Kids Table In a new interview with the Punk Site, Big D and the Kids Table had some words about their next album and what to expect from it:

We also have a new record coming out soon called the Damned, The Dumb and the Delirious. It’s going to be total ska-punk and it should be out in the fall….I think this is going to be really fast, loud; I don’t think there’s going to be any slower songs on it. It’s going to be really balls to the wall. We just wanted to do that because we realized those songs are more kind of fun to play live.

Check out the interview here. The band released Fluent in Stroll in 2009.

Brokencyde respond to allegations

Brokencyde has responded to the coverage they have been receiving which alleges any number of crimes perpetrated by the band and based on a fake TMZ website set up in a prank. Many sites ran the story before it was revealed as a hoax. They said this:

Usually the rumors about Brokencyde are funny and we can just laugh them off, but this time they’ve completely crossed the line. To have someone accuse us of such horrendous crimes is upsetting to everyone in the band. The members of Brokencyde have families, brothers, sisters, and some of us have children of our own. So to have our names dragged through the mud because people have nothing better to do than create lies and spread rumors is complete bullshit. I don’t understand how such high profile publications can lower themselves to be no better than those supermarket tabloid rags and publish a story without a even a fact check!

How would those same reporters feel if someone posted a story calling them a child molester or rapist? What would their loved ones think? I find it sad that these publications publish lies without any consideration or recourse for the way this affects people and their daily lives. Our goal since the day we started was to make music with our friends and hopefully put a smile on people’s faces.

Brokencyde are currently in Hollywood, CA wrapping up the recording of the group’s sophomore album, which is expected to hit stores in late 2010 through BreakSilence Recordings.

Every Time I Die posts first episode of “Sh*t Happens”

Every Time I Die Buffalo-based hardcore outfit Every Time I Die have posted the first episode of their new weekly eseries entitled Sh*t Happens: The Series?. This latest endeavor into international debauchery finds the boys again teamed up with Space Monkey Studios to bring you the finest in “unapologetic tomfoolery.” A press release explained the concept:

Over the next 12 weeks, Every Time I Die will unveil episodes that are packed to the gills with impromptu footage showcasing the band’s signature brand of humor that has made them infamous amongst their fans and peers alike. This is by no means a scripted reality show containing foreseeable plot twists and over-dramatic story arches. Nor is this your typical live band DVD that focuses on the tedium of tracking a record or the self-congratulatory tales of what inspired their lyrics. Instead, “The Series?” focuses on what it is exactly that drives 5 individuals from similar backgrounds to forfeit family and friends and take to the road year after year for the sake of their craft. Whether you’re a fan of music or simply an admirer of the nomadic spirit that resides in all of us, “Sh*t Happens: The Series?” will make you feel at home.

Check it out here.

Dirty Tactics head to the studio, plan tour with Dead Kennedys

Philadelphia’s Dirty Tactics have announced that they will be heading into the studio for a week starting on July 28th to record a follow up EP to their recent debut album, It Is What It Is, released by Say-10 Records. At the helm will be Pater Steinkopf from The Bouncing Souls. The band had this to say about recording and the new material:

We had a few weeks off after we got back from Europe to face reality a little bit. The tour gave us a chance to work out the kinks on some new songs, so we are playing a couple local shows to solidify them before going into the studio with Pete Steinkopf from the Bouncing Souls to record a new EP. All of us grew up on the Souls (there might even be a couple Souls tattoos in this band… shh…), and we’ve been talking to Pete for a while about our ideas. We can’t wait to work with him. Expect some studio posts for sure.

As far as the songs go, they each have a bit of a different vibe (Chris sings a couple; Dan sings another; we all sing on some) so we are stoked about that. We hope to get 6 songs out of it. There’ll be more information about its release in the near future, but we will definitely be playing them at our shows coming up.

The band has also announced that they will be supporting the upcoming Dead Kennedys tour.
