Face to Face announces album title

Many of you wrote in with the news that Face to Face have titled their forthcoming album. According to reports from attendees of the band’s Warped Tour performances, the album will be titled Laugh Now, Laugh Later.

The band wrapped up work on the album in late June. It will be the first new album in eight years from the long-running punk band, and their first since How To Ruin Everything. In the interim, the band released the retrospective Shoot the Moon: The Essential Collection. After retiring in 2003, the band reunited five years later and has continued to tour sporadically since.

Sum 41 talk new album

In a new interview, Sum 41 talked a little about what to expect from their next album. The record is titled Screaming Bloody Murder and is due out August 31, 2010 via Island. Blare Magazine spoke to Steve Jocz and Jason “Cone” McCaslin:

I don’t know really. I think it is a very personal record and it relates to the last one as it was very honest. Like how do I say this…there is going to be stuff about “the relationship” and really how we all perceive the world. I think that every album we’ve ever done from the beginning of time has been about what’s happened at the time. A lot of people are going to think that this is the divorce album for Deryck, it’s not. There’s like two songs.

I think if [they are fans of] Does This Look Infected? and Chuck then they’re going to love this. It’s the same sort of stuff we’ve played. Everything’s sophisticated and the melodies are great and it’s almost better than those two albums as we’ve grown since then but have kept the same vibe.

The band released Underclass Hero in 2007.

Energy begin recording new EP

EnergyEnergy have hit the studio to begin work on their new EP for Bridge Nine Records. The melodic hardcore band is planning a departure from the sound of their last full length, Invasions of the Mind in 2008.

Vocalist Jason Tankerley said this:

These songs are a step in a whole new direction, one that Mike and I have been messing around with for quite some time now. He and I have a side project called ‘Children Of The Night’ that has been really creating a pretty unique sound. We started doing that about 6 years ago, before Energy was a band. Mike recently joined Energy and we’ve been creating a lot of music with the COTN feel to it ever since. We feel as if with every album so far we’ve been reinventing the band’s sound and this EP will be no exception. With a lot of bands that release albums, you know what the whole thing is going to sound like within the first song or 2. One of our many goals is to have each song really stand out in it’s own way. We don’t want a batch of songs that all sound uniform, we want a wide array of melody and feeling that will keep listeners (and us) interested

To that end, the band is promising “catchy choruses, melodic vocals and keyboards” one what they are calling the Walk Into The Fire EP.
