The lineup has been announced for the 2007 edition of Street Scene. The Killers, Muse and Panic! At the Disco will headline the event which will take place September 22nd and 23rd t the Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego..

Other acts confirmed to appear at the event include Arctic Monkeys, Social Distortion, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Ozomatli, Fair To Midland, Air, Gym Class Heroes, Slightly Stoopid, Mute Math, Spoon, G. Love and Special Sauce, Elvis Perkins, Paolo Nutini, Augustana, Too Short, Editors, Brand New, the Supersuckers, Infected Mushroom, the Academy Is… and VNV Nation.

Two-day passes go on sale June 23 for $120, while VIP packages start at $300. Prices and on-sale dates for single-day tickets have not been announced.

Misfits-inspired hardcore act The Banner has relaunched its official website and along with it, unveiled plans for their next new full length. Frailty. The band released their previous record, Each Breath Haunted, in 2005, and since then, had split up and reformed.

Prior to the record’s release and recording this fall, the band will be touring and will kick off their tour on June 20th, 2007.

With their highly anticipated new album set to drop next week, Bad Brains has announced some pre-release plans for the coming days. The band will be releasing Build a Nation on June 26, 2007. As originally reported, the album was produced by Adam “MCA” Yauch of the Beastie Boys and is the first non-Beastie record to be recorded at the Beastie Boys’ Oscilloscope Laboratories and Studio compound in New York City.

Along with listening parties in major cities in the US, the band will be performing on New York’s Temptress Cruise Ship as part of the Rocks Off Concert Series on June 25. It’s an album release party that will sail around Manhattan.

Ladybirds has posted the first song from their upcoming debut full length. The record is titled Regional Community Theater and is due out August 21, 2007.

The band features Teeter Sperber and Tyler Pursel, the keyboard player for Gym Class Heroes. The album itself is also packed with guest stars including Max Bemis of Say Anything, Matt Pryor of The Get Up Kids, Justin Johnson of The Danger O’s and Neil Sabatino of Fairmont. The band itself is described as “a Cyndi Lauper superfan meets (a cupcake pop version of) The Postal Service on diet pills.”

The Lemonheads have announced some summer tour dates with support from The Icarus Line. The Lemonheads continue to support The Lemonheads, which was released last year and features contributions from Bill Stevenson, J Mascis, Karl Alvarez and more.

Supporting act The Icarus Line are gearing up for their first full length for Dim Mak Records. The record is titled Black Lives at the Golden Coast and is due out July 10, 2007. It is the follow-up to Penance Soiree which was released in 2004 and was their sole major label release.

Pitchfork Media has revealed that Television guitarist Richard Lloyd has been hospitalized for nearly a month with pneumonia. A post to his website revealed that the influential guitarist had been in intensive care since May 24th and as of June 1st had “responded to treatment… has shown some improvement and is now free of the breathing apparatus.”

Lloyd was originally set to perform on June 16th with Television at Central Park SummerStage. This was to be his last show with the band. Lloyd’s website stated that after 34 years he would “be amicably severing all ties with the band Television, in order that he may concentrate his magnetic force and supernatural energies upon his own career in support of his forthcoming record, due out in the fall.” He did not, in fact, make that show, with reports from frontman Tom Verlaine revealing that Lloyd remains in hospital.

In the original post to his website Lloyd did imply that this would be the final Television gig, stating: “To the fans of Television, from the very first show at the townhouse Theatre on March 4, 1974 till the hopeful last show here in New York at the Summer stage… I hope to see you follow both my own and the other members of the band in their own solo efforts for many more years to come.” It’s unclear is Lloyd’s health has effected these plans or if Television is in fact now finished.

There have been recent rumors of activity from the Sex Pistols camp. On June 11th Chris Thomas, who along with Bill Price produced Never Mind the Bollocks, appeared on guitarist Steve Jones’ LA’s radio show. He and Jones revealed that the band had in fact entered the studio. Details are few but a transcription of the chat alluded to an informal affair, stating that the band was “Having a bit of a laugh” and “Going down memory lane, on tape.” It was never stated that there are new recordings planned for release.

Frontman John Lydon recently appeared on Ian Wright’s radio show Talksport and answered caller questions. On the possibility of future Pistols shows Lydon stated that there was a possibility of a gig this Christmas. He commented that playing shows with the band was “great fun” and that the critics of the reunion efforts should just “mind their own business and not come.” He did not explicitly mention any studio work, but did reveal he was “Hanging out with Steve and Paul… having a laugh in LA.”

Also, Lydon’s official website moved to clear up rumors that he was releasing a reggae album. On the Transport show Rotten commented “I love reggae to death but that don’t mean I’m gonna pump out endless white-boy reggae beats. It would sound a bit hokey dokey wouldn’t it?” This somehow lead to a report in the Daily Mirror on Friday, June 8th that he was in fact planning a reggae record. He’s not.
