It’s Sunday June 3rd, 2007. So last week when I predicted that Trio story? The truth is I’m not clairvoyant. We already had the article written. As a matter of fact, just like some newspapers have pre-written obituaries for famous people, we here at the Org have pre-written major label signing articles. We hope never to have to use the “Crass signs to Jive” article, but if they ever do…
The people must have something good to read on a Sunday
New York City’s Man In Gray is set to release their debut full length on June 19th via Serious Business Records. The 11 track full length, titled I Can’t Sleep Unless I Hear You Breathing, was recorded at Serious Business Productions in Bushwick, Brooklyn throughout 2006 with producer Travis Harrison (a member of the Unsacred Hearts, with whom Man In Gray shared a split 7-inch a few years ago).
Eugene Oregon based dance-punk / new wave duo Aerodrone has signed with Warner Music Group affiliated Cordless Recordings. The band, which consists of Gary Zon (of Metropolis Records’ Dismantled) and Kevin Patrick, are set to record new material this month for digital release by the label later in the year.
Cordless Recordings is notably the first exclusively digital label run by one of the majors. It was founded by Elektra and Nonesuch founder Jac Holzman in 2005. Furthermore unlike most major-backed deals Cordless acts retain ownership of their masters and copyrights. SourceContinue reading Aerodrone signs to Cordless Recordings→

Pittsburgh’s The Code may have broken up last summer but that won’t stop them from playing a show this summer. The band will reconvene on July 2nd of this year at Belvedere’s in Pittsburgh for a reunion. The band’s playing again “for the fun of it” so it sounds like this is a one-off gig rather than any formal return to action. There will be more details up on pittpunk.com as the show draws closer.
