Lemuria / Cheap Girls split 7″ due out this summer

Lemuria A little birdy just told us that No Idea Records will be releasing a split 7″ featuring Lemuria and Cheap Girls this summer. No other details are available, but we’ll keep you posted as they come in.

Lemuria is certainly keeping busy, recently signing with Bridge Nine for their next full-length and gearing up for shows with New Found Glory and The Wonder Years, as well as a run of dates supporting Polar Bear Club. Cheap Girls are currently traversing the midwest and west coast with The Menzingers, and will release an acoustic version of their 2009 full-length My Roaring 20s.

The Menzingers: “I Was Born” (Acoustic)

The MenzingersOur good buddy Keith has uploaded a video from his recent stint on the road with the fine young men in The Menzingers. You can see Greg and Tom playing a slowed down, acoustic version of the track “I Was Born” from their new record Chamberlain Waits. You can hear a few songs from that album at their Punknews band profile.

Today the band starts their summer tour with a show in Pittsburgh then dates with Cheap Girls in the Midwest and West Coast then with Soul Control after that..

Tours: Pianos Become The Teeth

Baltimore screamo act Pianos Become the Teeth have announced a summer tour in support of their latest Topshelf Records release Old Pride. The tour will feature shows with Kid Crash, Lemuria, Not To Reason Why, Ruiner, and Touche Amore. The band plans to kick things off on June 11th in Baltimore, wrapping things up on July 21st in Annandale, VA.

Old Pride was released on CD and digitally in January and will see a vinyl version on June 8th.

Paper + Plastick kick off 7″ series Anti-Flag and Saint Alvia

Saint Alvia Cartel Paper and Plastick has announced a summer 7″ series, planning ten releases under the banner this year. The label is touting that each release will include “etched B-sides, elaborate artwork, and multi-color vinyl.”

The first release will feature Pittsburgh’s Anti-Flag with their The Second Coming Of Nothing 7″, featuring the new song “Queens and Kings.” The record will be available in white or rainbow vinyl, with the the b-side featuring an etching of Jesus and Moses sharing an intimate moment. The label has also released a 7″ from Burlington, Ontario’s Saint Alvia as part of the summer series. It features the songs “Jonxer” backed with “Get Up and Go” on violet or “root beer” vinyl.

Releases are on the way in the series from The Ataris (titled “All Souls Day”) and Weatherbox (titled “Christpuncher”). More are to be announced soon.

The Adolescents complete ‘The Fastest Kid Alive’

Adolescents The Adolescents have completed their new album. The follow-up to 2005’s O.C. Confidential will be titled The Fastest Kid Alive and will consist of 15 songs. Two of the tracks have been previously released in France, but those have been re-recorded for this album. The band is currently working on artwork for a July release.

The new record will be supported by a US tor in July and August. Some of the dates will be on the Warped Tour but the majority should be in clubs and bars. Details are forthcoming.

Kid Tested to reissue Sloppy Seconds’ ‘Destroyed’ on vinyl

Sloppy Seconds Kid Tested Records is getting set to reissue Sloppy Seconds‘ debut full length Destroyed on vinyl in celebration of its 20th anniversary. The double LP will feature a remastered version of the original LP on one record, available in four different colors. The second platter features ten rare bonus tracks, including previously unreleased demos and reheasals. Its b-side will feature a laser etching of the band’s mascot Al Testicle. More details on the set can be found at Kid Tested.

As previously announced Sloppy Seconds is currently on the road in the US.

Tours: City Sweethearts / The Brothers Gross (US East Coast)

Toronto’s power-pop/punk outfit City Sweethearts, featuring members of Vicious Cycle, Marvelous Darlings, and The Heart Attacks, are gearing up to embark on their first US East Coast tour this June. The band kicks things off on the 10th in Brooklyn, wrapping up in Gainesville, FL on the 29th. They’ll be supported on the tour by Indiana’s The Brothers Gross.
