Social Distortion sign to Epitaph

Social Distortion has signed with Epitaph Records for their next album, which is due out sometime in the fall. Frontman Mike Ness had this to say about the signing:

“We feel that Epitaph has a natural understanding of Social Distortion; both the history of the band and the direction we want to go … Combine that with their successful track record and it felt like a good next step for us. We’ve always been open to new ideas and pushing the envelope, but we have also been very conscientious about the decisions we’ve made. We considered a lot of options, but in the end, Epitaph feels like the right home for us. We’re looking forward to taking this step forward, opening some new doors with this upcoming album and this next chapter of Social Distortion.”

Once out, the new album will follow up 2004’s Sex, Love and Rock ‘n’ Roll. The band has also announced some American tour dates.

Green Day: “Rip This Joint” (Rolling Stones)

As part of the show’s Rolling Stones Week, Green Day stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night to perform a cover of “Rip This Joint.” The track was originally released by the Stones on their 1972 album Exile on Main St., which is being reissued with bonus material next week.

NBC’s video of the song can be found here, but since it won’t embed anywhere for some reason, you can click Read More for a YouTube version.
