Tours: Carpathian announce ‘Wanderlust’ 7″, tour

Australia’s Carpathian have announced the title of an upcoming 7″. Wanderlust is expected out soon via Deathwish Inc., and more details regarding the release are to be announced shortly. In the meantime, a song from the release can be downloaded as part of Deathwish’s new label sampler, which we recently detailed here.

The band will also be hitting the road this summer for extensive tours of Australia and Europe with Ghost Town and Ruiner, respectively.

Let Me Run: “CSJ”

Let Me Run Paper and Plastick is hosting a stream of “CSJ,” the opening track from Let Me Run’s upcoming EP and debut for the label, Broken Strings. Check it out here inside the audio player on the right-hand side of the site.

Broken Strings is due out on June 15, 2010 and once out, will follow up 2009’s Meet Me at the Bottom. It’ll also be the band’s first output with their new lineup.

Smoking Popes currently in the studio

Smoking Popes According to the Asian Man Records newsletter, Smoking Popes are currently holed up inside Atlas Studios with producer Matt Allison working on their next full-length. A release is expected later this year, and once out it’ll follow up 2008’s Stay Down, though in the interim the band released a compilation entitled It’s Been a Long Day.

Also expected later this year through Asian Man are reissues of the Popes’ first two full-lengths, 1993’s Get Fired and 1994’s Born to Quit. The band will be performing at Insubordination Fest in June.

Tours: Nobunny / The Spits

Nobunny Everyone’s favorite (read: only) rabbit-faced revivalist, Nobunny, will soon hit the road for a few weeks of dates alongside The Spits.

Nobunny continues to support 2008’s Love Visions, while The Spits will be supporting 2009’s IV, which is currently streaming at their Punknews.org page. Contests: Win Piebald’s upcoming Farewell DVD

Piebald On May 11, 2010, Piebald will be releasing their upcoming farewell DVD set, Nobody’s Robots. The DVD spans more than three hours, with an hour long documentary feature that highlights the bands career and offers a behind the scenes look into the their lives, music, friends, and fans. The film then flows into the bands final Boston show in its entirely; filmed April 19th, 2008 at the Middle East Rock Club in Cambridge, MA.
