Spinner is hosting the first video from the new collaboration between musician Ben Folds and author Nick Hornby (High Fidelity, About a Boy). Folds composed music to accompany lyrics written by the English novelist. For the video, the two collaborated with director and animator Julius Preite (‘The Simpsons’) and designer Justin Owens.

According to a post over at Destiny Tourbooking, The Casting Out will be going on what can only be ascertained as an indefinite hiatus. Frontman Nathan Gray had this to say about the matter:
“the casting out broke up??? well, sorta. after several years of losing members, gaining members, and losing them again…the casting out have decided to take a bit of a break. some of us have decided to move to different states, and some of us have just decided to move on for a while. thank you all for your support throughout the years, and we apologize that the obstacles we faced, where just too big for us right now.”
The band released their self-titled, sophomore full-length earlier this yea via Eyeball Records.

Echo Park, CA outfit Societys Parasites have detailed their new full-length. The record is titled 1753 and it’s due out October 26, 2010 via Hellcat Records. Once out, it’ll be the band’s first since their 2007 eponymous debut.
Southport, NC lo-fi punks Museum Mouth have posted their discography for free download. This includes Tears in My Beer, the band’s self-released full-length from earlier this year, as well as the Outside single and the I Am the Idiot of the Jungle EP. Head here to download.

Solidarity Recordings has added Pittsburgh, PA trio Run, Forever to their roster. The label intends to reissue the band’s self-released 2009 full-length The Devil, and Death, and Me in December along with a split 7″ with an unnamed band.

Escape The Fate have released the new video from their upcoming Interscope self-titled debut. The band’s forthcoming third album was produced by Don Gilmore (Bullet For My Valentine, Linkin Park) and is due out November 2, 2010. It follows the band’s two Epitaph Records releases, Dying Is Your Latest Fashion and This War Is Ours.
This week on the Punknews Podcast host and news editor Adam White, site founder Aubin Paul and interviews editor Rich Verducci discuss the news while being constantly interrupted by the sound of penis chewing. No joke.

Ted Leo has announced that he will be reuniting with his former hardcore band, Citizen’s Arrest. The band existed during the late 80’s / early 1990’s. The band members all met and grew up in the old NYHC CBGBS scene eventually ending up as a band on the lower east side at ABC No Rio.
Brooklyn Vegan has some additional information, noting that the reunion performance will include the original lineup from the band’s first demo, which featured Leo as well as Daryl Kahan of Born Against. Find more details here.

Rancid has posted the latest in their string of previously unreleased videos. This one is for “Who Would’ve Thought” from Life Won’t Wait, an album which seems to dominate the band’s list of videos. Notably, the video doesn’t feature the high contrast black and white which is the trademark of the band’s videos.
VBS.tv has posted a documentary covering the 2010 Groezrock Festival. The documentary was shot by Vice UK’s James Knight and answers some of the following questions:
