Fat details Screeching Weasel’s “Television City Dream” reissue

Fat Wreck Chords has revealed details about the newly announced remixed and remastered edition of Screeching Weasel‘s 1998 album, Television City Dream. Fat said this:

As the quintessential band of the pop-punk genre, Screeching Weasel possess a sound and style as recognizable as that of the Ramones, Sex Pistols, or even The Clash. We’ve been retooling Television City Dream with Ben Weasel to give the original release a total face lift. The album is getting a full makeover: re-mix, re-mastering, and updated art. Most intriguing is that there were 5 songs from the TVCD session that were not included with the original release, but they are now back where they belong, re-sequenced into a 20-song opus and set to be re-released.

The reissue is due out November 9, 2010.

Casey Jones hits the studio

Straight edge hardcore outfit Casey Jones have entered the studio to begin work on their next studio album and first since parting ways with Eulogy Recordings. The band will self-release the record next year and noted:

Most of these songs have been written for over a year,” said front man Josh James. “We decided to release them ourselves because we all believe in them. They’re some of the most intense, passionate songs we’ve ever written. All killer, no filler. We plan to take them on the road next year for Casey Jones fans, old and new.

Before the release, the band will be playing Florida shows followed by the Persistence Tour with Sick of it All, D.R.I., Blood for Blood, Unearth, Evergreen Terrace and Cruel Hand in Europe.

Lemuria talks about new bassist, Bridge Nine

In a new interview, Lemuria talked about signing to Bridge Nine, recording with J. Robbins, and talked about the departure of their former bassist:

The last bass player had immigration issues, and the band had a show coming up in New Jersey, so I flew up from Texas a few days before and started practicing in the studio. Our old bass player is a Canadian citizen, and he was living and working in the US illegally. Eventually the border found out.

And the band also shared some details about their Bridge Nine debut:

Well it’s not that far from our first album, Get Better. I think it’s a little darker, maybe a little heavier. Not in a hardcore way, though! We recorded with J. Robbins and he brought out more of what we sound like live into the recording.

Check out the interview here.
