The Wonder Years: “We Won’t Bury You”

The Wonder Years Picasso Blue is hosting a stream of a new track from The Wonder Years entitled “We Won’t Bury You.” The song will appear on the group’s upcoming deluxe reissue of their recent full-length The Upsides, due out September 21, 2010 via Hopeless Records. “We Won’t Bury You” was written about the late Mike Pelone, friend of the band and cousin of ‘Org staff reviewer Joe Pelone. Frontman Dan Campbell had this to say about the track:

“In June, we recorded a song for Mike that we were planning on showing him this past weekend. He never got to hear it. It was inspired by a conversation I had with him when he went back to rehab last. I asked if there was anything we could do and if he wanted to start touring with us so that we could watch over him. He said that he needed to be in a facility for awhile and that he just wanted to make sure we didn’t bury him. Those were his words.”
