Deftones begin work on next record

Deftones have apparently begun work on the follow up to Saturday Night Wrist. The band posted the plans in a myspace bulletin, saying:

On July 28th, Deftones wrapped up their 246th show in support of Saturday Night Wrist. Inspired, and wasting no time, the band has immediately returned to “The Spot” in Sacramento to write their sixth studio album. For the first time, the band has created an official blog to document the writing process. The doorway to the blog is through the sacred hearts on deftones.com.

Besides the new record, band members have rejoined members of Hella to work on the next Team Sleep album. The band is also planning several internet releases with more details expected to be revealed soon.
