Post rock outfit Explosions in the Sky have been named as curators for the upcoming 2008 edition of All Tomorrow’s Parties. The event, which takes it’s names from a Velvet Underground song is a frequent festival wherein the performers are chosen by a notable band or group with a tendency towards post-rock, avant-garde, and underground hip hop.
Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore once described the event as the “ultimate mix-tape.” For their run, Explosions will be naming more than 30 performers and the first batch have now been confirmed: Broken Social Scene, Iron and WIne, Dinosaur Jr, And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead and Adem.
More details are expected in the coming months.
