The Onion AV Club has obtained some photographs of the upcoming Joy Division-themed The Zune to be released by Microsoft.
As expected the Zune features an adaptation of the cover art from the band’s 1979 debut, Unknown Pleasures, which artist Peter Saville created using a graph of one hundred pulses from pulsar CP 1919 (apparently the first radio pulsar ever discovered).
The branded MP3 player coincides with the release of the band’s new documentary, Joy Divison which is due out June 17, 2008 via The Miriam Collection.
