More than two years after Silkworm drummer Michael Dahlquis was killed by a suicidal lingerie model, a verdict has finally been reached.
The killer, Jeanette Sliwinski, was attempting to commit suicide — not murder — when she drove at nearly 90 mph into the back of a car stopped at a red light in 2005. Instead, she killed Silkworm drummer Michael Dahlquist, John Glick, guitarist of the Returnables and Doug Meis, drummer of Exo and the Dials. The court acquitted Sliwinski of first-degree murder but convicted the 25-year-old of lesser, reckless homicide charges for killing the three occupants of the car she rammed in 2005. The judge also rejected her insanity defense, though he acknowledged she was struggling with psychological problems.
Sentencing guidelines place a maximum sentence of 10 years for the crime and prosecutors are promising to seek “the maximum sentence possible.”
