Billboard recently spoke with The Lemonheads frontman Evan Dando about the band’s follow up to 2006’s comeback record The Lemonheads. The new full length is planned for an April release, with recording to commence in January. Plans are not yet finalized, but the record may feature the Lemondheads’ touring musicians Vess Ruhtenberg (bass) and Devon Ashley (drums), along with Descendents members Bill Stevenson, and Karl Alvarez. The veteran punk musicians provided the backing for the 2006 Vagrant released album.
The Lemonheads are also preparing a deluxe reissue of the band’s 1992 record It’s a Shame About Ray. That release will arrive in March via Rhino Records and will include demos, b-sides and a DVD of footage from the era.
As previously announced the band embarks on a tour at the end of the month. it will be the first time that Dando, Stevenson and Alvarez have toured together.
