Mark Hoppus supports health care reform in new Huffington Post editorial

Blink 182 bassist and producer Mark Hoppus recently put together an editorial piece for the political news site Huffington Post.

In it, the musician writes about his experiences with Ali Vatter, a member of the catering crew on the Blink 182 summer tour. During the tour, Vatter had to have an appendix removed but lacked insurance since she could not get coverage due to “pre-existing conditions.” Her bill reached more than $48,000 and Hoppus wrote about how we would match every dollar donated until her bills were paid.

In a larger sense, Mark also talks about the current problems with health care, noting:

When a person’s best option to pay for healthcare is to take to the internet and ask for small donations from strangers, bold changes need to be made.
