Brooklyn’s Nakatomi Plaza have announced plans to break up after their appearance at The Fest this year:
[Our band] has entered the process of disbanding. I say “process” because that’s exactly what it is. It’s nearly impossible to end something overnight that you’ve been involved with for a decade, but it is in-fact ending, and very soon. I wanted to tell everyone (particularly our friends that do not live in the Northeast and that may be attending the Fest 7 in Gainesville, FL this weekend) to encourage you to come see the band this Sunday at 7:30pm at Durty Nelly’s for one of our final performances.
We hope to enter the studio by the end of this year and finally record these songs we’ve been working on for the last year and a half. We are too proud of them to let them go undocumented. And hopefully not too long afterwards, we will play an undetermined amount of farewell / record release shows centered around the Northeast. These will surely be very special events and we hope you can attend.
Statements from each band member can be found here.
