Hello everybody and welcome to Navel Gazing: your look back at the week in Punknews. I’m Adam White and I’ll be your guide through some of the most popular, notable, and otherwise attention getting stories of the past seven days. Each and every Punknews story is built from tips contributed by you fine folks, and here’s what got the community talking this week:
- No hyperbole here: The RIAA has successfully sued Limewire for a gazillion billion dollars, funds that they will surely use to build a laser capable of destroying the sun. They’re dicks like that.
- Propagandhi‘s fictional member Glen Lambert has challenged Cokie The Clown, the alter-ego of NOFX‘s Fat Mike.
- Against Me! performed “I Was a Teenage Anarchist” live on Leno, and here we always thought Tom was on Team Coco. Too bad.
- Me First And The Gimme Gimmes members Fat Mike and Spike Slawson were interviewed on such burning topics as Bavaria, Paris Hilton and the meaning of Punk
- An Outernational show in Arizona opening for GBH turned ugly when the crowd revolted against the activist punk band.
- Brian Fallon of the Gaslight Anthem performed “American Slang” acoustically.
- Members of Rufio were involved in a nasty RV accident
With that we hand over this Sunday evening to you, the Punknews community. From that glorious, likely bearded rabble we’ve see the creation of everything from message boards and Punknews fantasy sports leagues to even a band or two. So talk amongst yourselves and we’ll see you Monday…
