Hello everybody and welcome to Navel Gazing: your look back at the week in Punknews. I’m Adam White and I’ll be your guide through some of the most popular, notable, and otherwise attention getting stories of the past seven days. Each and every Punknews story is built from tips contributed by you fine folks, and here’s what got the strange, slow, old people in the community talking…

The People Must Have Something Good To Read On A Sunday
This week’s most popular stories

There are plenty of notable new records on the way this month, in particular the new full length from celebrated and innovative Toronto hardcore band Fucked Up. The band is celebrating the release of The Chemistry Of Common Life with a marathon 12-hour show for Tuesday. Popular post-hardcore act Thursday has a new home at Epitaph Records. The band is also headed out on tour with Rise Against and Sage Francis. Radio shock jock Howard Stern is planning to remake Rock’n’Roll High School, which famously featured the Ramones in it’s original incarnation. The mainstream media hit a few punk notes this week, with the Village Voice taking a look at Stza of Leftover Crack‘s “Donut Social” and the L.A. Times took a look at Rancid and pushed for an Operation Ivy reunion. More important than all that? Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols is in a new, epic, butter commercial.

On the new release front Fall Out Boy have detailed their new record Folie A Deux. Against Me! and the Offspring will have songs featured in the next Rock Band video game. Electronic artist Moby has also apparently formed a new punk band. Against Me!’s Tom Gabel posted two new videos supporting his solo recordings. You can check out “100 Years of War” and “Random Hearts” now. Drag The River also launched a new video for “Rangement.” Rise Against is streaming their new record Appeal to Reason and Paramore their new track “Decode.” Look for a tour soon featuring Suicidal Tendencies, Whole Wheat Bread and Madball.

We at the Org also think you should register to vote.
