Omar Rodríguez-López: “Xenophanes”

Omar Rodríguez-López Prolific musician Omar Rodríguez-López has posted a stream of his new solo album. Titled Xenophanes, the record is due out this week. In 2009 alone, Rodríguez-López released albums with The Mars Volta, as El Grupo Nuevo de Omar Rodriguez Lopez, and under his own name. A total of eight releases in 2009.

For this release, Omar took the helm vocally and lyrically, as well as musically and sang entirely in Spanish. The album features frequent collaborators, bassist Juan Alderete de la Peña, drummer Thomas Pridgen and keyboardist/percussionist Marcel Rodriguez Lopez. Additionally, the album includes contributions from Mark Aanderud (additional keyboards), as well as the voice of Ximena Sariñana.
