We Might Need a Recount!

Voting is going strong for next week’s Encore Mutation Poll.

On the 360 side, Chainsaw Massacre is the runway leader with 43% of the vote. On the PC side, we are quite a bit closer with Headshot! leading with only 33% over Chainsaw Massacre’s 32%. This is a close race, so make sure to get your vote in by Thursday night!

What happens if the PC and Xbox 360 have different picks? They each get what they voted for. We created the system to accommodate this scenario. The different platforms can be running different Mutations.

When you are done voting, check out what the Left 4 Dead 1/2 community has been up to this past year.

We have been busy playing I Hate Mountains in L4D1 while we wait for the L4D2 version.

Gravitybomb has created a simple but very cool Left 4 Dead 1 poster.

Do you have visions of a Cheeseburger Apocalypse?

With the Portal 2 announcement at E3, we have all had cake on our mind. This google image search returns plenty of tasty images along with our favorite.

You can also always check out the L4D1 or L4D2 photo pages on Facebook for a ton of cool community pics.

Madball plan “Empire” for fall

Legendary New York Hardcore outfit Madball will be releasing their next album this Fall. The album will be their first for (relatively) newly launched hardcore label Good Fight Music. The record is tentatively titled Empire and will be the first for the band since Infiltrate the System in 2007. The band explained:

MADBALL has come a long way from being street kids to becoming very established in our genre, and even beyond the music. We’re finally at a point in our life where we’re taking control of our things, where as before we didn’t have control of some things or didn’t choose to have control. We have the feeling that we’ve built a little empire for ourselves with our band, brand, and different endeavors. We get this reference that we’re kings of New York… There are plenty of awesome bands that have come out of the city. Agnostic Front are the godfathers of New York hardcore, Sick Of it All are one of the undisputed champs of the scene… we were always known as more of the bad guys, but now people are calling us the kings. It’s not a title we gave ourselves and it’s not that we call ourselves that, but it’s just a term of endearment and respect that people use and it plays into the name Empire.

The band will enter Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida to record in July.

Mark Hoppus: “New Blink 182 music is on the way”

As some people expected a Blink 182 announcement when bassist Mark Hoppus called a press conference, Hoppus has posted an update on his blog with regards to the pop-punk trio:

In June and July we will be at the rehearsal spot, getting ready for the European tour this summer, and writing new songs. When the European tour is finished, we head back and play ONE SHOW in Southern California. Then that is IT for live shows for the rest of 2010. Why? Because we’ll be in the studio recording the new blink-182 album. Until it is finished. I cannot be more clear on this: new blink-182 music is on the way.

Believe me, when we have new blink-182 music for you all, we will make it LOUD AND CLEAR. We’ll be screaming about it. You won’t be able to get away from us talking about it. And that moment is on the way. All of us have ideas from before and after the tour last summer, and are excited to get into the studio and see those ideas come to light. Simple as that.

The band released their last studio album, Blink 182, in 2003.
