Jay Bentley talks about the future of Bad Religion

Bad Religion‘s Jay Bentley spoke to Jesse and Marty from The BR Page during their recent performance at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. Along with a bit of a history lesson about the band, Bentley talked about the rumours that the band’s forthcoming album would be their last:

We learned a long time ago that we’re not really super forward thinking. It’s better not to make plans for the future. Obviously we have a record coming out in September, that’s for sure. The record is done. If we all die on the bus drive tonight, the record will still come out. So we’ve got this tour that’s booked. On to the process of booking the US tour, that’s now going to start on October 7. That’s the plan. It’s like staying about six months ahead. The only time we’ve really discussed when it stops is that it’s going to stop. It’s not going to some long drawn out farewell tour and a reunion tour. I can’t say for sure what we’re going to do. Maybe this is our last tour. I don’t think so. There’s no discussion in the band that this is it; that we’re packing it up after this.

Jesse and Marty also asked about the Internet, specifically those Punknews.org folks:

I think they’re hilarious! They’re funny. Both Brett, Brian and myself will always go like ‘hey, did you read that?’ And we’ll all have a laugh about it. Brett might get a little bit more upset then others. [Brett indeed posted in the comments once, but no one believed it was him] And rightfully so. You should never believe anything on the internet. That’s why have have that signature. It’s all bullshit [laughs]!”

P.O.S. visits “Infatuation TV,” performs “Optimist”

P.O.S. visited Infatuation TV for some unusual cross-promotion. First, Stef is taught how to make a lasagna and this is followed by an improvised drum session and performance using plastic cups and cutlery. Since the release of his acclaimed 2009 album, Never Better, P.O.S. has toured with the Bouncing Souls, Minus the Bear, and Saosin. Last year, he mentioned potential collaboration win Dan Yemin of Paint It Black and Lifetime. (Incidentally, Happy Birthday Dan!)

7 Year Bitch singer plans solo debut

Selene Vigil-Wilk, former lead vocalist of Seattle, WA-based melodic punk outfit 7 Year Bitch, has announced her solo debut. The record is titled That Was Then and is due out September 14, 2010

7 Year Bitch released two albums on indie C/Z Records before signing to Atlantic before the band split up in 1997. The band also appeared on a compilation to benefit Home Alive, an organization founded after the violent death of The Gits’ Mia Zapata, a longtime friend of the band. In early 2004 a Seattle court convicted Jesus Mezquia of first degree murder in the 1993 death of the punk singer Mia Zapata.

WEEK 9

Headshot!, This is my Rifle, Pick Your Mutation

Headshot!

The only shot that counts is the one in the head.

Shoot them in the arm, shoot them in the leg, shoot them in the chest – it just doesn’t matter! The only way these zombies are going down is with a head shot. Other hits will stumble them back, but only a head shot or decapitation will kill them.

This Mutation is available for Campaign Mode.

This is my Rifle

Last week’s poll results for the question; Pick your favorite Weapon Class.

The results were very similar between the PC and Xbox 360. Everyone picked the Assault Rifle class as their favorite and Auto-Shotguns next. The third and fourth choices are where the two platforms differed. Xbox users preferred Melee weapons and then Sniper Rifles and PC users went with Sniper Rifles then Melee weapons. Is this where the controller Vs. mouse/keyboard makes a difference?

The rest of the field in order of popularity: Shotguns, Grenade Launcher, SMG, and Pistols.

Pick your Mutation

It’s time to pick your favorite Mutation! Vote for next week’s Encore Mutation.

Last Man On Earth, Chain Saw Massacre, Room For One, or Headshot!

Also in This Update

We have the first of our planned Versus Changes. These changes will appear on the PC and later on the Xbox 360.

While not removing Defibrillators, we have made some changes to them. We scaled dynamic Defibs based on map length. This means unless the Defib was expressly set by the level designer to have more, the Director will only spawn them on a long map. The Director will also cap the number to one per map.

Using the Defibrillator is no longer free; there is now a 25 point scoring penalty for using a Defib. That means each time you use one, you will have 25 points removed from your final score. Will your revived Survivor make it far enough to be worth it?

Health kits will also be less numerous as we have removed the Director’s dynamic Pill conversion. Previously if the first team was injured, the Director would spawn First Aid Kits instead of Pills for both teams. Now the Director will always just spawn Pills.

The Jockey received some minor buffs. His damage per second was increased and we removed his damage delay.

Fat Mike and Spike Slawson talk about Bavaria, Paris Hilton and the meaning of Punk

Fat Mike and Spike Slawson participated in an interview with a German magazine after performing at the Ruhrpott Rodeo 2009 in Hünxe with Me First and The Gimme Gimmes. Both Spike and Mike talked about the wonderful experience of being booed by 35,000 people, being a prison punk, Paris Hilton, racist soul music and who should own Bavaria. It’s definitely NSFW.
