Los Angeles-based hardcore outfit Alpha & Omega have posted a new song from their forthcoming debut album on 6131 Records. The record is titled Life Swallower and is due out July 13, 2010. It is their first full length after releasing Devil’s Bed in 2008.
How to Destroy Angels have released their debut EP as a free download. The band is a new project from Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, West Indian Girl frontwoman Mariqueen Maandig and Atticus Ross, who also worked on albums with Bad Religion, Rancid, From First to Last and Zach de la Rocha and was part of the band Error with Brett Gurewitz.
As with previous releases, Reznor has opted self-release the record for free but is offering upgraded versions for a fee ($2) which includes lossless audio and HD videos.
Against Me! have launched a stream of the first single from their imminent new album. The record is titled White Crosses and is due out June 8, 2010 It is the follow-up to the I Was a Teenage Anarchist EP released last month.
Strung Out has announced a US and Canada tour set to kick off in late August, shortly after their return from Australia. The veteran punk band will be supported by rufio, We Are the Union and Mute on the month-long run. The first batch of shows is available but more are expected, particularly in the US.
The Damned Things have posted some new music. The band recently signed to Island Records and is a new project featuring Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley, Every Time I Die vocalist Keith Buckley and Anthrax guitarists Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano. The band previously posted a lengthy bio which aimed to describe their sound as “ a heavy/classic-rock, blues-oriented, riff-based band while trying to stay away from what makes that sound generic and overplayed.”

Kitchener, Ontario’s Mockingbird Wish Me Luck has signed to Dine Alone Records. The label will be reissuing their 2009 EP Goodbye Debris as a digital download and a new 7″ is in the works for the late summer or early fall. A full length is expected afterwards.
The Telegraph is reporting that the swastika-emblazoned t-shirt worn by Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious is up for sale. The shirt, designed by manager and impresario Malcolm McLaren to stoke further controversy around the group, was worn by Vicious in the 1978 mockumentary The Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Swindle. The Telegraph has attached a price tag of £10,000 on the garment, although memorabilia dealer Helen Hall does not list a price in the listing. Nashville, TN’s Blacklist Royals will be on the road this summer with The Riot Before in June and Nothington in July and August with an appearance at Baltimore’s Insubordination Fest in between. More dates on the Nothington tour are to be announced so check back for those soon.
