Punknews Podcast: The week of October 26, 2010

The Punknews Podcast is getting ready for the Fest this week. The classic line up of editors Bryne Yancey, Rich Verducci and Adam White tackle stories such as the Tea Party turn from the Velvet Underground‘s Maureen Tucker, and the awesome Bad Religion boxed set. However nothing this week dominates the conversation like The Fest! Check the show out for some excellent Fest advice from a few veteran Festers to make sure you don’t crash and burn before Sunday night. It’s the only sure fire way to avoid FestAIDS folks.

On top of that, we’ve got music on the show from Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin , Diesto, and Comadre teaming up with Dead To Me.

You can click Read More to stream and/or download the show, or subscribe via RSS or iTunes. Don’t forget to give us your feedback in the comments section or via e-mail. And if you’d like to catch up on past episodes, you can do so right here.

Neither rain, nor snow, nor intense confusion can stop our ongoing series of Fest interviews. Today, No Idea’s Chief Primate Overseer, Tony Weinbender, shares some words with Fat Mike (NOFX/Me First and The Gimme Gimmes). As you may have guessed the conversation is heavily Fest centric and avoids all mention of Halo Reach.

Let Me Run working on new album

Let Me Run have posted a blog update as they work on their next album. They said this:

We finished out our tour with Rust Belt Lights about a month ago, and after relaxing for a little, and playing some fun shows (thank you Fake Problems, The Casting Out, and Samiam) we have gotten right into writing and demoing for our new record. So far we have 3 songs almost tracked completely, with about 10 more in the writing stage, and we couldn’t be more excited with the way things are turning out. I can’t tell you when you’ll hear these new tunes exactly, but we promise that we’re working our hardest to get a new record made and released as soon as we possibly can.

They released Broken Strings this year.

As you might have guessed, the segment takes place during Red Eye, the late night program which previously hosted Danzig, GWAR and Fucked Up and not during Fox and Friends which hosted this guy or this guy.
