Polar Bear Club have revealed the title and release date for their sophomore full-length. The record is titled Chasing Hamburg and is due out September 8, 2009.
Drummer Emmett Menke commented:
“The new songs are overall a bit shorter and more upbeat, while somehow getting a little darker. Lyrically, they’re a lot more personal than our previous efforts. We’re very happy with the final product.”
The band is currently in the UK with labelmates Ruiner and Defeater. They’ll be supporting Every Time I Die on a few dates in June and will hit the U.S. west coast in August with Set Your Goals and Four Year Strong.
The band’s last effort, 2008’s Sometimes Things Just Disappear on Red Leader, garnered the #6 spot in our overall top 20 of the year.
