Blabbermouth reports: VAN HALEN frontman Sammy Hagar has rejected Internet rumors that he is about to leave the band and re-focus all his time and effort on his solo career. Writing to his official web site, Sammy said, “Listen here, all these crazy rumors flying around cyberspace are that. Plain and simple, I never said I was quitting VAN HALEN. There has been no discussion as to when or where were going to pick this show up on the road and do it all over again cause quite honestly, 80 shows since June 11. Wow, Im bushed …HA!

The Cure In Rome

NME reports: THE CURE have been confirmed for free live show MTV AT THE COLISEUM in ROME later this month.

The event takes place next to Romes ancient amphitheatre and runs simultaneously with the MTV Europe Music Awards on November 18.

The show will be broadcast live on the MTV Countdown Show at 7pm. [see full story for more]

Queensryche Mindcrime II Tour

liveDaily reports: Prog-rock outfit Queensryche plans to spend early 2005 putting the finishing touches on its follow-up 1988s “Operation Mindcrime,” but not before previewing some of the new material during a round of winter concerts.

Billed as “An Evening with Queesryche,” the shows will be split into two halves. The set list for act one features hits culled from throughout the groups career, while act two will find the band performing “Operation: Mindcrime” in its entirety for the first time since the early 90s.

The “Operation:Mindcrime” production will include live actors who will portray the albums various characters, and will also include new and expanded video footage not used when the band last performed “Operation:Mindcrime” during its 1990-91 tour [see full story for more]
