Thrice talks about adapting material for live setting

Thrice updated their blog about touring and adapting their upcoming two albums and four EPs for a live setting. The record is titled The Alchemy Index: Volumes 1 & 2 and is due out October 16, 2007:

We’ve started getting ready for tour, trying to figure out how to pull some of the stuff from the Water EP in a live setting, locking in a few Fire songs, and figuring out what stuff we’re gonna play from the back catalog. It’s crazy to think that back in the day, we would get ready for shows, and only have an album of songs to choose from, if that, and sometimes have to learn covers to fill our set time. Now we’re agonizing (not really) over what to play, when to play it, and how to make the set flow without being ridiculously schizophrenic, in a 40 to 50 minute set. We’re getting there, though. I’m really excited to get back out on the road, and play live…it’s been a while.
