Yahoo! Music has posted an editorial which opens with the notion that punk is long dead, and that said death occurred when “the Sex Pistols imploded and The Clash’s Joe Strummer had the temerity to kick out Mick Jones” or perhaps when “ the first Hot Topic store opened in 1988.”

To be fair however, the The Exploited were saying punk’s not dead as early as 1981 and people were obviously declaring it dead before that.
