Bob Mould cancels weekend shows due to ankle injury

Bob Mould, former frontperson of both Hüsker Dü and Sugar , has suffered an injury to his ankle that has put the kibosh on some solo gigs this weekend. As explained on his blog:

This Tuesday afternoon, I broke my left ankle. Non-displaced fracture of the lateral malleolus. I spent 4 hours at Sibley ER, and was sent home in an air cast, with my first (and hopefully only) set of crutches.

He went on to explain in a later post that the shows had been canceled due to the ankle being broken. You can follow the updates on Bob’s ankle at the Boblog.

Mould’s last solo studio album Body Of Song was released in 2005, and he will be releasing a live DVD from the subsequent tour on Brendan Canty’s Trixie DVD label. He also released an album in 2006 in collaboration with electronic musician Richard Morel under the name Blowoff. Another solo album is planned for release in early 2008.
