Protest The Hero plans album

Protest the HeroProtest the Hero have announced the release of their next full length. The record is titled Fortress and is due out November 13, 2007. It is the follow-up to Kezia which was released in 2005.

The 10-song set was produced by Julius “Juice” Butty and recorded at Silo Studios in Hamilton, Ontario. Singer Rody Walker offered this:

This album is nothing to be intellectualized. All talk of wonder, pathos and optimism (blindfolded) aside (hink). I feel it’s a very natural progression for us. A natural progression into further obscurity. I am of the belief a lot of the people who work for us were hoping for a stab at a more commercially viable album, however we wrote what we wanted without linear boundaries and created something less commercial than ever. Some fans of the band will hate it. And some people who hate the band will love it. All others can rot.

The Low Budgets: “The Low Budgets and the Cursed Organ”

The Low Budgets (ex-Dead Milkmen) recently worked on a short film titled The Low Budgets and the Cursed Organ. The film was written and directed by Roger Masciantonio (Cold Hearts) and shot on location in Philadelphia PA. The film does contain some naughty language, so if you work in the kind of place that doesn’t like that, you may want to save it for later.

The band’s album is currently streaming on their Punknews.org Profile well.
