Aiden parts ways with guitarist

Aiden have posted an explanation for their recent tour cancellation which includes the news that guitarist Jake Wambold has parted ways with the band:

We have been consistently on the road traveling for the past 4 years. In those 4 years we have been in seattle a total of maybe 5 months. That’s including time we spent in the studio making the “Rain in Hell” ep and our new album “Conviction”. It’s enough to make anyone crazy, and bring almost any kind of personal relationship to the brink of disaster. So we all felt inclined to take a breather for the first time in what seems like forever. And with that, we are announcing that Jake W is no longer apart of Aiden.

We will continue on as a 4 piece. I know this may come as a shock for some of you, and some of you could care less. I just want to say to everyone that this is by no means the end. This… My dearest friends is but a beginning, a new chapter has opened up for us and the fire you saw before will be replaced with a much higher level of intensity. (sorry to all the people who would like to see us to break up, you can keep on hating another day. Believe.)

The band released Conviction last year.

Jason Navarro talks about Suicide Machines split, Hellmouth

Jason Navarro of The Suicide Machines recently discussed his new project, Hellmouth, as well as the split of the Suicide Machines. Of some note is his explanation:

[Originally] I wasn’t really leaving the band I told Dan “Look, I miss my kids, I really need to get a Job with insurance.” I talked to the label the label said they would be more than happy to put out our records until whenever we want to call it quits, regardless if we tour a ton or not. So I said I would take my vacation time and do weekends and once a year do a tour, that wasn’t enough for Dan, so it turned into this huge blowout.

I can understand it, he wanted to tour all the time, I just didn’t. It is just one guy wants one thing the other wants another, our situations are both vastly different. A lot of those guys don’t like him, but I also think we have grown up enough to just go “Whatever we are all different people”

Cursed (2001-2008)

Toronto’s Cursed have abruptly broken up. The band, who recently released their third full length, III, were robbed of their equipment, money and passports while on tour in Europe. According to the band’s blog, it was the nail in the coffin. Cursed formed in 2001 and released three albums and two EPs.

Yeah, you heard. Apparently, it gets even worse. That’s all I know or even want to know for now. We got robbed at the very end of tour in a totally unreal, extremely sketchy series of events that still makes no sense at all, only leads to paranoia, anger and a total loss of faith. Passports, money, all the costs of the tour. Either way, whoever did it, it was a bullet in the head, the end of the line. A sudden and totally fucked up way for it to end, which I know will be fitting when I look back on it. All we could do was play the show, badly, and go our ways with whatever money we could muster. I hitched a ride back to Prague with Tomas. Since I can’t do a fucking thing about it, I’m going to hang out with my girl, and friends, stare at some Czech mountains and try not to think about it. Needless to say, all outstanding plans are off. All this shit aside, thanks to everyone that helped out and travelled from all over for the shows on this tour, all the kids and bands we played and stayed with. Minus a few fucked up shows, it was probably the best tour we ever had. Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I’ll elaborate when I’m home next week, for now – yes it’s true, and yes it’s over.
