Ted Leo And The Pharmacists: “Where Was My Brain?” (demo)

Ted Leo And The Pharmacists Ted Leo And The Pharmacists have posted a demo of a track recorded last fall. No word on when or if the song will appear as part of a proper release; Leo explained:

“Older “new” song – we’ve been playing some new stuff live for quite a while now, and since it’ll probably be a while, still, before any new record comes out, I thought I’d just toss this demo out there. It’s by no means the most ambitious of the new songs, but believe it or not, neither is it the simplest, and maybe it’s just a good late-spring tour sing-along.”

“Where Was My Brain?” can be heard here. The band last released Rapid Response in 2008.

Tegan and Sara post “New Music,” imply October release

Tegan and Sara have posted a video titled “New Music,” where one-half of the twins, as well as producer Chris Walla, listen to their new recordings in headphones and give their reactions.

While the video title certainly doesn’t make good on its audible promises, an end title screen implies that the band’s new album will be unleashed in October, presumably on Sire / Neil Young imprint Vapor, ensuring a release by 2009’s end as hinted at for the last year.

You can click Read More to check out the clip.

The as-yet-untitled effort will follow up 2007’s critically acclaimed The Con.

Here’s what they had to say about this clip:

“This episode gives a small glimpse into the struggles and annoyances (more than anything) that the band has with trying to handle the recording process themselves, outside of a studio situation.”
