Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz angry about Ashlee Simpson parody

Fall Out Boy‘s Pete Wentz has filed a Cease-and-desist request against Canadian metal act Neurosonic according to The New York Post.

The drama stems from the band’s song “So Many People” (streaming here) which attacks pop singer Ashlee Simpson who is reportedly Wentz’ new girlfriend. The song doesn’t pull any punches, saying:

You ugly girl, you cannot sing / Can’t even lip sync / Apparently money can even buy you dignity” and “Since practice wasn’t on the list / Clearly talent doesn’t exist… Whose dick did you have to suck to get that number one song?

It’s not entirely clear what legal basis Wentz has to prevent the band from speaking freely and other sources are reporting that Wentz has “asked” them to stop. Either way, the band itself has not backed down, and is now apparently asking audience members to dance a jig in the style of Ashlee’s ill-fated SNL performance.
