Slayer enters the studio, plans 2009 release

Thrash-metal kingpins Slayer recently entered the studio to begin work on their forthcoming album. The band is working on a new album due out next summer. One track, “Psychopathy Red” applies Slayer’s sound to the story of f Andrei Chikatilo, a notorious Russian serial killer. You can check out some video of the song being recorded here.

The band will be headed to Europe tomorrow to begin the Unholy Alliance, Chapter III tour which kicks off this Monday, October 27 in Manchester, England, and wraps in Helsinki, Finland on November 27. The band plans to return to the studio early next year to finish recording the new album.

The band released Christ Illusion in 2006.
